There and Back Again

What I wanted to do was walk around the Veterans Hospital nearby where I lived. I seriously underestimated the journey, for it isn't just a hospital, but also several theaters, administrative buildings, and maybe a school and some residences. Plus many acres of grass. As the grass stretched out before me I saw an endless fence with signs that said, "NO TRESPASSING," which meant of course, "NO CUTS, NO BUTS, NO COCONUTS."

So I walked. At the point I realized my folly, it was too late to turn back. Along the way I saw many nice houses, though, including one with an actual name, Bending Elm.

I arrived at home just in time for dinner about 2 hours after I left and, dude, I was so hungry.

Below is a summary of my Trek. (That's right a capital T!) The white area is the Veterans Complex Extravaganza.

From Co-Op to corner of San Vicente and Barrington: 2.3 miles

From San Vicente and Barrington to Sunset and Barrington: 0.9 miles

From Sunset and Barrinton to Co-Op: 2.1 miles

*Note* Around here I made some cuts in the arterial residential area, but I think the mileage is still justified taking into consideration the back-tracks I made.

Total Mileage: 5.3 miles
