I saw this movie called Napolean Dynamite.

Napolean wears moon boots and unicorn t-shirts tucked into his jeans.
Napolean likes to draws his favorite animal a liger.
Napolean claims there is no room in his locker because of his numchucks.

When Napolean discovers his friend Pedro's bikes he asks him if he ever takes it off any "sweet jumps."

Cut-to the next scene where they have placed a cinder block on the side walk and created a sweet jump with a piece of plywood.

This movie felt more real than sur to me. I felt like I knew people like Napolean, but couldn't qute place them.

Then today as I was walking to the co-op, talking on the phone I hear a voice behind me saying something like, "Get...out..way...jump."

A huffy-esque bike barrels by me and goes over a sort of pathetic crest formed by two slabs of concrete. He catches air. All two inches of it. Then another voice behind me asks, "Did you jump it?"

"Yeah-uh! She saw it."

"Did he jump it?"

"Come on tell him I jumped it."

I was too comfused to answer, though in retrospect the truth is, he did jump it, but it wasn't sweet.

There and Back Again

What I wanted to do was walk around the Veterans Hospital nearby where I lived. I seriously underestimated the journey, for it isn't just a hospital, but also several theaters, administrative buildings, and maybe a school and some residences. Plus many acres of grass. As the grass stretched out before me I saw an endless fence with signs that said, "NO TRESPASSING," which meant of course, "NO CUTS, NO BUTS, NO COCONUTS."

So I walked. At the point I realized my folly, it was too late to turn back. Along the way I saw many nice houses, though, including one with an actual name, Bending Elm.

I arrived at home just in time for dinner about 2 hours after I left and, dude, I was so hungry.

Below is a summary of my Trek. (That's right a capital T!) The white area is the Veterans Complex Extravaganza.

From Co-Op to corner of San Vicente and Barrington: 2.3 miles

From San Vicente and Barrington to Sunset and Barrington: 0.9 miles

From Sunset and Barrinton to Co-Op: 2.1 miles

*Note* Around here I made some cuts in the arterial residential area, but I think the mileage is still justified taking into consideration the back-tracks I made.

Total Mileage: 5.3 miles

Hmmm...I am trying to get the comments to work, but only seems to work if I am logged in.

Bleckk.

I just heard the saddest story about a little nine year old boy who cannot eat. When he eats part of the food goes into his lungs, because is epiglottis is not functioning right. This means all of his food goes directly to his stomach. The saddest part is, when he was really little, they would give him little tastes of things, because they thought he would be able to eat. So now he remembers what food tastes like, he just can't have any. So sad.

It is one thing to go to bed with worries on your mind, but it is quite another thing to wake up with them on your mind. Tomorrow is not always new with no mistakes in it.

Found these live cams of Boulder, which reminded me of a question I always asked myself while I lived on Pearl Street, "Dude, does anyone in Boulder work?"

Here's a question for you kiddies:

Lets say that you are alone in a glass building all by yourself, with one door. Someone knocks on the door. Do you answer?

Now you are alone in a wooden building with one door. Someone knocks on the door. Do you answer?

I say yay, then nay. What does this mean...
